Quick Start Guide: Update Your SkillMarket Secure Sign-In

Modified on Thu, 30 Jul at 5:46 PM

Beginning August 7, 2026

SkillMarket will use a new secure sign-in process powered by Microsoft.

You are not creating a new SkillMarket profile. You are updating how you securely sign in to your existing account.

Your profile, assignments, skills, experience, and project history will remain unchanged.

During the update, you will temporarily move to Microsoft’s secure sign-in pages to create or select the credentials you will use to access SkillMarket going forward.

Before You Begin

  • Have access to an active email inbox you can use for your new secure sign-in
  • If possible, you can use the same email address associated with your existing SkillMarket profile.
  • Allow pop-ups and redirects for SkillMarket in your browser before starting the account update process.
  • Plan for approximately 3–5 minutes to complete the one-time update.

Update Your Existing SkillMarket Account

  1. Go to SkillMarket.
  2. In the Existing Users section, select Update Account.
  3. Choose one of the four options for how you want to sign in securely:
    • Email and password
    • Google
    • Apple
    • LinkedIn
  4. Follow the instructions on the Microsoft secure sign-in page.
  5. If you choose email and password, enter the 8-digit verification code Microsoft sends to your email.
  6. Enter any additional information requested to finish setting up your secure sign-in.
  7. If prompted, enter your current SkillMarket credentials and select Verify and Link Account.
  8. Return to SkillMarket and confirm that your existing profile is still there.

Important!

This one-time process connects your existing SkillMarket profile to the new secure sign-in. It does not create a second SkillMarket profile.

If your existing profile does not appear, do not create another profile. Submit a support ticket so the existing account can be reviewed.

After the Update

Continue using the same SkillMarket website and bookmark.

Select the orange Secure Sign-In button and use the sign-in method you selected during the one-time update.

If you selected Google, Apple, or LinkedIn, continue using that provider. If you selected 'email and password,' your password will now be managed through Microsoft rather than through SkillMarket.

Optional CLEAR Verification

After signing in, you will see an option to complete CLEAR Verification.

CLEAR Verification is optional and free to the consultant. You may choose to complete this additional step in SkillMarket because some client engagements may prefer or require consultants to be CLEAR Verified.

Note: SkillMarket CLEAR Verification is not a CLEAR+ airport membership for travel and security screening at airports.

Having Trouble?

If the Microsoft sign-in window does not open, remember to allow pop-ups and redirects for SkillMarket, close the open windows, and restart the update.

Submit a support ticket if:

  • You receive a red technical error message.
  • You cannot access the email receiving the verification code.
  • Your existing profile does not appear after linking.
  • Your account remains stuck during the update.
